Yesterday I earned my first passive income online.
Google ads set on DesiTiffins.com.au earned $2.5 in 2 days 🤑.
Sure, the cost of running that website is much higher than the revenue so far, but for the first time I have experienced the power of digital assets and how they can make money passively.
Now I know it is not a big achievement, but something is definitely different. For the first time I have received a validation of the things I have been doing. The small $ amount is the baby step I am taking towards Financial independence.
The journey has been uneven and broken. I have started quite a few projects which did not go anywhere. Each project telling me something about myself
- Gyrix (my software development agency) - Taught me that I had quite a few things to learn. People management is not easy and should be avoided wherever necessary
- Virtular (my attempt to create a online/offline marketplace in India) - Taught me that field work is not my forte. I have good ideas but I am not the right person to work on all of them
- Coming to Australia (my accidental migration) - Taught me that I was living in my own pond and there is so much more to learn
- Kwikly (my attempt to create a voice first teams communication software) - Taught me that I do not have great technical skills and no appetite to make big bets
- TEX (my product management job after leaving my own company) - Taught me that stable mindset is much more important than hustling and progress at any cost
- Property investment in UK (my attempt to enter the real estate market) - Taught me that certain businesses are capital intensive and I will need to build up capital base before I am able to enter such markets
- IndustryReadyEngineers (my attempt to convert my passion of mentoring into a business) - Taught me that I am not suitable for creating a demand in the market. I am more likely to succeed when trying to meet an existing demand
- DesiTiffins (my attempt to solve a market problem by myself) - Taught me that I should experiment quickly, try things out, persevere for a while and things will gradually fall into place
As Thomas Edison has said, ‘I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.’
